Explore North Carolina's Sandhills Region near the perimeter boundary of Fort Bragg, and explore the local terrain that ranges from flat to fairly hilly. Eventually there will be a 1,000 ft boardwalk that crosses Rockfish Creek and the surrounding wetlands.
From Fayetteville take US-401 toward Raeford. Continue on US-401 for 8.9 miles after crossing the Hoke county line. Turn right on to Vass Rd. at the flashing 4-way signal light. Follow Vass Rd. for 3.3 miles, parking and trail head are on the right just before the gate.
